2. How can I get large items home?
Most IKEA products are flat-packed, making them easy to transport. The IKEA store offers (or will refer you to) a home delivery service if you prefer. Home delivery is not included in the product price. She the next answer for delivery rates.

3. What are the delivery rates to my area?
If you "Ask Anna" about the delivery rates to your area she will give you the minimum delivery rate according to your zip code. Click 'Back to top' and she is in the right hand corner!

4. How will my purchase be delivered when I order online?
Many of the items shown in the IKEA 2008 catalog can be delivered.

Delivery across continental U.S. only (Puerto Rico, P.O. Boxes and APO addresses are excluded.) Hawaii & Alaska ship UPS only, no common carriers are available.

We carefully choose the delivery service that is best to ensure that your order is delivered in premium condition. Orders are shipped from our supply warehouse by USPS, UPS Ground or Common Carrier. Shipping and handling fees will be charged based on shipment weight/volume, delivery destination, and retail value of order.

Please note, that changing your delivery address on the site does not change your delivery address for any orders other than those placed on the Internet.

5. How can I get an IKEA Catalog?
The IKEA catalog is mass distributed annually in the area around each IKEA store. IKEA catalogs are free and also available to pick up at your local store. You can also enter your information
here to receive a catalog by mail.

6. What methods of payment can I use?
IKEA stores accept: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Debit cards, IKEA Credit Card, IKEA Gift Cards, as well as Cash.
IKEA Home Shopping accepts all the same credit cards and IKEA Gift Cards as well.
Most IKEA stores do not accept personal checks.

9. My furniture is missing a piece/hardware, how can I get it?
If you purchased your product from the IKEA store: return to the store with your receipt and assembly instructions to the returns/exchanges counter and talk to them about what you need. You must have the original receipt and the product needs to have been purchased within 90 days. Sorry, we cannot give spare parts for As-is merchandise. Call 1-800-434-IKEA (4532) and select the option for store customer service for questions or details.

10. Can I buy spare parts or hardware?
If the pieces are not originally sold seperately from the product, the pieces cannot be purchased seperately in the future. The entire product would need to be purchased again. Some stores do have hardware pieces for sale. Check your local IKEA store for availabilty.

11. When does the new IKEA Catalog come out?
The annual catalog is distributed in August/September of each year and is valid for a full year. Prices are guaranteed not to increase while the catalog is valid.

14. Why are items sometimes out of stock?
Every effort is made to maintain the availability of items shown in the catalog, but due to popularity and supply issues, some products may not always be available. Generally, IKEA can estimate when a product should be back in stock. Please call us at 1-800-434-IKEA (4532) and select the store customer service option.

15. What if I want to have the products assembled?
IKEA products are generally easy to assemble and require no special tools. If you prefer, most IKEA stores can refer you to a reputable, reasonably priced assembly company that can come to your home to assemble and install our products.

18. Does IKEA have support for disabled shoppers?
All IKEA stores have parking for disabled visitors as well as entrance doors that automatically open. Inside the store, we offer wheelchairs to borrow, elevators, wheelchair accessible restrooms and ramps. If you ask a co-worker for assistance in picking up or loading packages, they will be happy to help. IKEA can also suggest a delivery and assembly company for you.

19. Why can't I buy a HAMAR midbeam on the Internet?
The HAMAR Midbeam is included with all necessary bedframes in price and in purchasing on the Internet. The HAMAR midbeam is only reccommended for IKEA beds. If you have an IKEA bed and wish to purchase the HAMAR midbeam seperately, please call us at 1-800-434-IKEA (4532) and press the Home Shopping option.

20. Why doesn't the Internet ask for payment information when I place my order?
There are some circumstances that prevent our systems from calculating the appropriate shipping and handling totals for your order. In these cases, your order will be processed manually by an IKEA advisor. The advisor will calculate the S&H totals and notify you via e-mail. You must follow the directions in the e-mail in order to complete your order. Please do not reorder through the Internet. If you wish to discuss your order with an advisor please call us at 1-800-434-IKEA(4532) and please make sure you tell the advisor that you have already placed the order on the Internet.

More than 2,000 suppliers in over 50 countries manufacture our products. The profile of our well-designed and high quality range is distinctively Swedish/Scandinavian. The low price is literally built into the production and the flat packs facilitate a rational distribution, self-service and immediate take-away. All of our products are labelled "Design and Quality, IKEA of Sweden."

4. How does IKEA plan to expand in North America?
IKEA plans to open new stores every year for 10 years starting in 2005 as part of an aggressive expansion plan. We will initially focus on serving our existing markets, and then move into new markets that we believe are compatible with the unique IKEA concept.
We have currently opened 13 new stores since November of 2004 and we have 3 more stores slotted for the next year.
