More than 80 million children and 10 million women are benefited

The projects cover areas like maternal and child health, nutrition and water and sanitation, benefiting more than 80 million children and 10 million women.
The overall aim of the health projects, running from 2007-2012, is to increase the prospect for children to get a healthy start in life. It’s about survival and staying healthy during the first five years of life by providing infants and small children with immunization and vitamin supplements.
One of the most important activities supported is to raise the awareness among women about the importance of breastfeeding and nutritious food for children under the age of 24 months. Furthermore, the projects among other things provide safe drinking water and better sanitation in rural areas, such as better access to toilets and learning about basic hygiene.
