What would you actually do if you worked at IKEA?

Stores/retail

The store is where our visitors meet IKEA face to face. We want to give our visitors plenty of ideas, solutions and inspiration. It should be fun and easy to shop and the customers should be able to do most of their shopping by themselves. When a visitor needs assistance, a well-informed and friendly co-worker should be on hand to attend to his or her needs.

Product development

IKEA of Sweden AB (IoS) based in Älmhult, develops and makes the IKEA range available to stores and customers all over the world. Our aim is to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them.

Purchasing

Co-workers in this area form a bridge between the factory floor and the products on the shelves at IKEA stores. They are responsible for ensuring reliable production methods that lead to high quality results, but which at the same time involve the minimum waste and maximum efficiency.

Distribution/warehouse

Trucks, boats and trains are all needed to move products around. Coordinating these different means of transport to make the movement of goods as quick and efficient as possible is a real art!

Support functions

The support functions exist in order to enable the work of IKEA purchasing, distribution, product development and sales.
