IKEA Soft Toys for local underprivileged children

The annual global IKEA Soft Toy Campaign is back! From 1 Nov to 24 Dec 2011, every soft toy or chicken nuggets kid’s meal you buy at the IKEA store will equate to a 1 Euro (approximately RM4.25) donation by the IKEA Foundation to UNICEF & Save The Children for kids in need to have quality education.

IKEA EXPANDS ITS SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE

Home furnishing retailer IKEA has just gotten even friendlier and closer to you with its new social media initiative, will be launching its new IKEA Facebook page on October 3. Through this innovative and important communication space that combines tools like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and blogs, the company hopes to strengthen engagement with fans of IKEA and reach out to new friends at the same time.

Smart solutions make space for your dreams


The new 2012 IKEA Catalogue will arrive at the doorsteps of all households in the Klang Valley starting from 11 August 2011, with 376 pages of home furnishing ideas and inspiration. So look out for it at home! This year IKEA puts more focus on smart solutions and ideas that maximise small spaces (with small price tags, too), so the many people can start living how they want, dreams included.

While anticipating the arrival of the new 2012 IKEA catalogue, a customised IKEA truck that showcase the latest home furnishing inspiration will be going around main roads in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur from 3 to 16 August.

IKEA MALAYSIA GOES BAGLESS!
IKEA Malaysia is to become the country’s first retailer to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bags in the latest environment initiative by the world’s largest home furnishing company.

This has been a journey for IKEA Malaysia which began in June 2009, when it introduced the “Kick the plastic bag habit” campaign with an aim of reducing plastic bags consumption. Since the campaign started, IKEA has reduced its plastic bags usage. Now in its second year of the campaign, there’s a positive trend of the IKEA customers stopped buying plastic bags.

The Allen Key is a small iconic IKEA product made from highly-recyclable material - do not let it go unnoticed at home or let it disappear into your trash bin.

Look around your home for any of the Allen Keys and bring them back to the IKEA store for recycling which started on World Environment Day, 5 June 2011.

UNICEF and Save the Children thank IKEA customers for 11.4 million euro donation
IKEA customers and co-workers have enabled the IKEA Foundation to donate a total of 11.4 million euro to UNICEF and Save the Children projects to help realise every child’s right to a quality education following the 2010 IKEA Soft Toys movement.
