IKEA participates in Cool Earth Day 2009.
IKEA stores in Japan will turn off the light of the sign towers and offices between 20:00 and 22:00 on July 7. Along with this activity, IKEA will promotes the sales of the energy saving light bulbs.
This is the first year IKEA Japan participates. Each IKEA store in Japan will offer 10% discount on 8 different kinds of energy saving light bulbs called SPARSAM between June 20 and July 7 in order to work on the sustainability with customers.
These energy saving light bulbs uses up to 80% less energy than incandescent bulbs and lasts for 6,000-10,000 hours up to ten times longer then incadescent bulbs. Like other countries, IKEA Japan will continue to seek the ways for the customers to participate in the sustainability through our business activities.
