how IKEA is organised

The founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad, has been eager to create an ownership structure and organisation that stand for long-term independence and security. The IKEA Group is owned by a foundation, Stichting INGKA Foundation , which is registered in the Netherlands. The foundation owns INGKA Holding B.V. the parent company for all IKEA Group companies - from the industrial group Swedwood to the sales companies that own the stores in the various countries. Inter IKEA Systems B.V., the owner of the IKEA concept and trademark, has franchising agreements with every IKEA store in the world. The IKEA Group is the biggest franchisee of Inter IKEA Systems B.V.

The IKEA G roup

The founder of IKEA , I ngvar K amprad, wanted to create an ownership structure and an organisation that stand for independence and a long-term approach. That is why, since 1982, the IKEA G roup has been owned by a foundation. Ingvar Kamprad retired from G roup Management in 1986, and today acts as advisor to the parent company.

Stichting I NGKA F oundation is the foundation that owns the IKEA Group. It is based in the Netherlands.

INGKA Holding B.V. is the parent company for all IKEA Group companies, based in the Netherlands. Members of the Supervisory Board are: Göran Grosskopf (Chairman),
Mathias Kamprad, Lars-Johan Jarnheimer, Göran Lindahl, Carl Wilhelm Ros, Bruno Winborg, Magdalena Gerger. Ingvar Kamprad is Senior Advisor.

IKEA G roup Management: Anders Dahlvig (Group President and CEO), Ian Duffy, Sören Hansen, Peter Högsted, Lars Gejrot, Pernille Lopez, Torbjörn Lööf, Mikael Ohlsson, Josephine Rydberg-Dumont, Göran Stark, Werner Weber.
