Welcome back meatballs, we missed you!Our tasty high quality meatballs are back on the IKEA Restaurant menu. Served the traditional Swedish way with cream sauce, lingonberry jam and mashed potatoes – just the way you like them.
A few weeks ago, meatballs from our long-standing Swedish supplier were found to contain horsemeat. As we did not know about it, we had of course not declared it on our packages or in our ingredients lists. The trust of our customers and co-workers is of utmost importance to us, so this was certainly a serious situation.
We stopped selling the meatballs right away, and started to analyse the situation together with our Swedish supplier and a third party quality assurance company.
Now, with even stricter control routines in place, we are confident that meatballs produced from now on contain what we say that they contain, and live up to our high quality standards every day, in every way.
