About Your Delivery

How do we deliver and how much does it cost?

We have 2 delivery services used to deliver your order.

  • Parcel delivery . This service is used to deliver small items weighing up to 25kg. A parcel delivery can comprise multiple small packages up to a total order weight of 100kg. Some of our products are not suitable to be delivered via parcel, for example products containing mirrors or glass and some items over 150cm. These will be transferred automatically to a truck delivery where we can take better care of them.

    And remember, if your order is delivered via Parcel, then you don’t need to be at home to accept delivery. Parcel Force will leave a card informing you that they will rearrange delivery at your convenience or you can collect from your nearest depot. Alternatively you can arrange for your order to be delivered to a different work address if this is easier for you.

    The charges are as follows.

    £9 for orders with a total weight 0-25kg.
    £19 for orders with a total weight 26-100kg.

    Please note any individual product that weighs more than 25kg will be delivered to you via our truck delivery service.

  • Truck delivery A 2 man team will deliver all orders that we classify as ‘large’ deliveries, (anything over the 25kg item rule), and any products that we deem unsuitable for parcel delivery.

    Our truck delivery charges start from £35 and are based on postcode. Your delivery charge will be calculated at the checkout.

Made to order delivery charges.The delivery charge is included in the price for all products described as 'made to order'. These are, in the main, certain ranges of sofas and kitchen worktops. If your order includes any additional products that are not made to order then a delivery charge will apply.

When do we deliver?

Parcel force will deliver orders Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm.

Truck deliveries take place on nominated days depending on where you live. You can check the days we deliver in your area by clicking on the link below.

We will confirm your delivery date via email, within 72 hours of placing your order. If this date is unsuitable, we can always change it. However, please remember, we cannot change the days we deliver to your area.

How long do I need to wait for delivery?

We aim to deliver your order within 14 days, depending on stock availability and where you live. We will always confirm your delivery date within 72 hours of placing your order.

'Made to Order' products will take longer to deliver as they are being produced especially for you. We have a legal obligation to deliver to you within 30 days of your purchase unless you agree otherwise. Again we will confirm your delivery date within 72 hours of you placing the order.

If we miss the agreed delivery date for any goods, you may cancel your order straight away if (a) we have refused to deliver the goods or (b) delivery within the delivery deadline was essential (taking into account all the relevant circumstances) or (c) you told us before the contract was made that delivery within the delivery deadline was essential. If you do not wish to cancel your order straight away (or do not have the right to do so in the circumstances set out above), you can give us a new deadline for delivery, which must be reasonable, and you can cancel your order if we do not meet the new deadline. If you do choose to cancel your order for late delivery in the circumstances set out in this paragraph:
  • you can do so for just some of the goods or all of them, unless splitting them up would significantly reduce their value;

  • if any of the goods have been delivered to you, you will have to return them to us or allow us to collect them, and we will pay the costs of this; and

  • after you cancel your order we will refund any sums you have paid to us for the cancelled goods and their delivery.
  • What to do when there are delivery restrictions at the delivery address?

    To ensure the smooth delivery of your order, there are a few points we need to know about your address. Please take time to read this short guide and contact us if you feel our delivery vehicles may have problems delivering to your door. Don't worry; we will always find a way, but to ensure delivery first time please let us know of any deliery restrictions in your area in plenty of time. If you’re not sure then please contact us and we will be happy to advise you.

    The size of our furniture?

    Some of our furniture is larger than you may expect, particularly sofas. So before we send your order you need to check the measurements of the products you are buying, and make sure there will be sufficient access for us to deliver them as required. Also check that once the product is built, it will fit into your room. if you’re not sure then please contact us and we will be happy to advise you.

    When do we confirm delivery dates?

    You will see an estimated delivery date on the website when you have placed your order; this is also indicated in your Order Acknowledgement email.

    Within 72 hrs a confirmed delivery date will be communicated in your Delivery Advice email, which will also specify a parcel courier or 2 man truck delivery. If you have included a mobile telephone number, then we will also SMS text message to confirm this date.

    Please check the Delivery Advice email carefully.

    We do try to meet the estimated delivery dates however there are times where we are unable to do this and your confirmed delivery date will be different. We would advise you not to make any plans to accept your delivery, for example booking time off from work, until we have confirmed the date with you.

    What delivery communication can I expect?

    Parcel delivery

    We will update our order tracking website with your Parcel Force tracking number 24-48 hours before delivery. You can then access this to track your delivery whilst on its journey to you.

    Truck delivery

    When we have confirmed your order date there are a few more things that we would like to keep you up to date with, and therefore you will receive the following text messages from us.

    48 hours before your delivery, we will text you with your AM or PM 4 hour delivery window. This is with the exception of made to order goods, which cannot be cancelled after we have sent your Delivery Advice email.

    On the day of delivery, our delivery team will call you 1 hour before your delivery is due to ensure that you are available to take delivery and to check with you that there are no unexpected access restrictions.

    Please be available to verify the content, condition and to sign for your order. Alternatively, you can appoint another adult whose instructions you are happy for us to follow. All courier deliveries are to the address point of entry only. For 2 man truck deliveries, please tell us in advance any access issues, e.g. narrow doors, difficult stairs, upper floor delivery, and we will do our best to deliver to the room of your choice.

    What if I am out or the products won't fit?

    Please try to inform us as soon as possible if you know that you are not going to be in to accept delivery.

    What if my made to order products don’t fit?

    We are unable to cancel made to order products at anytime as per our terms and conditions. It is therefore VERY IMPORTANT that you have taken the time to ensure your products will fit into your home and into the room of your choice, as we are unable to refund if they do not.

    Where does IKEA Shop Online deliver to?

    At the moment we deliver to mainland England, Wales and Scotland. Some outlying areas are not covered by our delivery network. Check when we deliver to your area using our Postcode Checker. If you want to take your order abroad we are happy to deliver to your shipping agent for onward transfer.
