If you discover that something is missing or damaged please return to your nearest IKEA store where our co-workers in the Customer Returns department will do their best to replace that part if possible. If you experience a problem with the functionality or quality of a product then the quickest way is to return the product, together with your original receipt, to your nearest IKEA store where our co-workers in the Customer Returns department will do what they can to resolve the problem for you.
If the item is large and/or assembled e.g. a mattress or a wardrobe or if you live far away from an IKEA store then please send us some photos of the product with a clear explanation of what the problem is, together with a copy of your receipt, and we will do our best to resolve the problem.
If we can’t determine what the cause of the problem is we will consider sending an independent inspector who will then examine the product at your home. Apart from normal wear & tear many different factors can contribute to problems with the functionality and/or comfort of furniture. If it turns out that there is a manufacturing fault then we will of course do everything possible to rectify the problem. This can be in the form of a repair, a replacement or, where appropriate, an alternative mutually agreeable solution.
Quite a few of our products come with a free guarantee. In order to make a claim under a guarantee your original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase and must be submitted to IKEA at the time of claiming. The receipt is a vital part of any guarantee with any product as it holds information that allows IKEA to obtain specific details about the product such as batch number and supplier that we will need for our internal investigation. Any product fault will always be fully investigated so that the necessary improvements can be made.
We want to make a positive difference to your life at home so we always want you to be happy with your IKEA purchases. We don’t always get it right but we will certainly always want to do the right thing for you. So let us know if you need our help.
