System or freestanding kitchens?
Freestanding kitchens are solitaire units that can be placed like furniture in your kitchen space. Kitchen systems on the other hand, are more permanent fixtures and constitute the majority of kitchens in most people’s homes today. Each type of kitchen can be found in a variety of styles with different levels of quality. However, in the end you’ll find that the choice rests mainly on your own personal taste.

Kitchen system

The foundation of all our fixed kitchens is FAKTUM. It is a flexible frame system that allows you to create the kitchen you want. FAKTUM allows so many combinations and can be used for several kitchen layouts. The fact is that the frames also work well in other rooms - both at home and at the office.

FAKTUM frames provide the base for your new kitchen. Choose between base cabinets, wall cabinets and high cabinets in many different widths. Wall cabinets and high cabinets also come in different heights. If you want to use a corner, choose a corner base cabinet with a carousel that makes it easy to reach what's inside. There are even special frames for built-in ovens, microwaves and fridge/freezers. Complement with practical RATIONELL interior fittings.

Even if it's what's on the inside that counts, appearances are just as important when it comes to enjoying your kitchen. At IKEA you can choose between kitchen doors in many different styles and materials - from high gloss to solid wood. There is also a tempered-glass door available in all styles. We even have sliding doors that save space when open. Do you like to mix and match and create exciting contrasts? Then, you have the entire RUBRIK door series to choose from. Take your pick!

Freestanding kitchens

A freestanding kitchen gives you almost endless possibilities to furnish as you like. The freestanding units are just like any other piece of furniture - easy to plan for and easy to buy. All the units are complete and can be combined and moved according to your own needs, tastes and wishes. And they are easily rearranged into a kitchen with a new look - when you're in the mood. If, at a later stage, you decide to move somewhere else, the kitchen is easy to dismount and take along. Our freestanding kitchens are available in different materials, styles and price levels, so you can choose what suits you best.
