Anders Dahlvig wins the Oslo Business for Peace Award Anders Dahlvig, President and CEO, IKEA Group has been awarded the first annual Oslo Business for Peace Award. The award was given in Oslo, Norway on May 14, 2009. New President and CEO for the IKEA Group Mikael Ohlsson has been appointed new CEO of the IKEA Group by the board of Ingka Holding BV. He starts his new assignment September 1st, 2009 and replaces Anders Dahlvig, CEO during the past ten years.

IKEA Dublin opening date Leading home furnishings giant, IKEA, today announced it is to open its Dublin store on Monday 27th July 2009. The opening of the new store at Ballymun will create a total of 500 direct new jobs and 50 additional indirect jobs in outsourced services such as home delivery, kitchen installation and crèche facilities. 55 senior positions have already been filled and the recruitment for the remaining 445 people will take place in two phases commencing immediately with the recruitment of 50 Supervisor & Specialist positions. The recruitment of the remaining 395 co-worker positions will commence mid March.

IKEA Soft Toys to children in cyclone affected area of Myanmar Save the Children distributed a total of 200,000 IKEA soft toys to children in Myanmar. This is in response to the emergency caused by the cyclone in spring this year.
