IKEA Coventry - IKEA UK's first city centre store The Coventry store is the very first to be built in a City centre shopping area, and IKEA will be bringing its affordable home furnishing solutions to Coventry high streets very soon for shoppers to enjoy. IKEA Coventry has been designed to contribute to the architecture of the city. The building envelope features extensive glazing, making it as transparent as possible when viewed from the street, so that the store is alive and attention seeking, by day and after dark. Environmental features being considered within the design include geo- thermal heating, a system that utilises ground water for maintaining the temperature of the store.
