HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TV

Hidden storage

Smart furniture will help you keep your room clutter-free. A chest can serve as a coffee table, but can also be a great place to store those extra cushions and throws. A footstool with an inner compartment is the perfect place to store all the gaming handsets, batteries and accessories that would otherwise be left lying around the place. A system that lets you combine all these functions in your own tailor-made storage solution will help make your TV area a really nice place to be.

Storage and display

The furniture we use in our TV/gaming areas often serves several purposes at once. Aside from providing a home for your TV and entertainment consoles, it’s often somewhere we place surround system speakers and store DVD’s, games and hardware. It can also be a display unit to show off our beautiful things. Choosing a system that lets you combine all these functions in your own tailor-made storage solution will help make your TV area a really nice place to be. High cabinets will create a lot of storage in small area, but will be difficult for the little ones to access (which may be a good thing). Low units create a streamlined modern look and provide easy access for the kids, but may be too low to stand the TV on. In this case a wall panel to mount your TV on is a wise choice.

Find those remotes

Why is it the remote is always missing just when you need it? Creating a special place to keep it can help save lots of frustrated searching. A small basket or box is a good place to gather all your remotes and handsets while a remote pocket like the one shown here will keep your remotes right where you need them – by the sofa.
