[National] IKEA recalls Christmas lighting products for outdoor use. A number of IKEA Christmas lighting products for outdoor use from 2009 and onwards have been incorrectly supplied with a transformer for indoor use only. If used outdoors and exposed to water (e.g. rain) there is a risk of electric shock.

A number of IKEA Christmas lighting products for outdoor use from 2009 and onwards have been incorrectly supplied with a transformer for indoor use only. If used outdoors and exposed to water (e.g. rain) there is a risk of electric shock.

If you have an IKEA Christmas lighting product intended for outdoor use but supplied with a transformer for indoor use only, please stop using it immediately and bring it back to any IKEA store or contact IKEA Japan Customer Support Centre (0120-151-870) for a full refund.

IKEA transformers for outdoor use have a screw connection between the transformer and lighting. Transformers for indoor use only have a push-in connection.

IKEA has not received any reports of incidents involving any Christmas lightings.
