Turn any bed into a four-poster

28 February 2016
Add cosiness and drama to your bedroom by hanging your own four-poster canopy, like Helena’s. ‘My bedroom is quite big and this makes the sleep area feel more snug,’ she says. What will your #littlething bedroom update be this spring?

Hang a four-poster bed canopy

‘You can buy a canopy, but it’s quite easy to make your own,’ says Helena. ‘You just need four ceiling hooks, some lengths of sheer fabric, cord to thread the fabric onto and enough sewing skills to be able to stitch a hem!’ For an alternative version, try mounting curtain tracks to the ceiling.

‘I like my bedroom to be simple and uncluttered – layering a few textiles is enough to make it feel soothing. The canopy creates a dreamy effect that reminds me of being in the clouds’
