A spa bathroom for book-lovers

01 February 2015

‘The bathroom is where you can shut out the world and focus on yourself, so don’t be afraid to go for it’, says stylist Sam Grigg. ‘A little indulgence goes a long way to restore your everyday wellbeing.’

‘Offline reading makes the perfect antidote to online screen time. I love how a good book can transport you to a different place or mood’

Create a soulful place to soak

1. A rack chair doesn’t just have to be for towels – use it for favourite books and magazines! To take the idea further, create a wall of quotes – layer pages from old paperbacks on the wall using easily removable tape.

2. Mix in soothing elements, such as decorative stones, candles, bath salts and soaps, to enhance a feeling of purity and relaxation. A nice plant and woven textures also work well.

3. A chandelier is a great way to introduce a sense of luxury – it casts a beautiful glow on your surroundings.

‘Don’t forget plenty of soft, fluffy towels to wrap yourself in afterwards – the perfect finish to your book and bath!’
