Elisabettas’s home truths
MY HOME IS… a reflection of me. The picture wall above my sofa shows the journey of everything I’ve achieved so far – running, losing weight, following my dreams.
I SHARE MY HOME… with my two cats, Diego and Trilly, and a constantly changing mix of guests at my weekly supper clubs.
EVERYTHING IN MODERATION… is a sentiment I believe in. Life’s too short not to enjoy yourself! My secret is good food, good drink and good exercise – but not too much of any of them.
‘Open-plan living really suits me – I have cosy areas for when I’m relaxing alone, plus it’s welcoming and practical whenever I’m entertaining guests’

Store and display
Not everything has to be hidden away when not in use. Make a feature of favourite candles, glassware and keepsakes by arranging them on open shelving or sideboards. ‘I store all the table dressings for my supper club on the sideboard by my kitchen,’ says Elisabetta. ‘It suits my style – the vase of corks reminds me of all the memorable evenings I’ve hosted.’
Dress your windows
Layering windows and patio doors with two sets of curtains gives you more chance to control the light and temperature in the room, while framing and softening the view. ‘When people come here for the first time, I open the door and they say, “Oh, how beautiful”. That makes me happy,’ says Elisabetta. ‘I’ve tried to use colours, but I get bored after a month. With white, grey and beige, I never get restless. They’re my colours.’
An outdoor room for all seasons
Enjoy an outside space at all times of year, with cushions and sheepskins for warmth and a rug to add comfort and help define the space. ‘The terrace is a bright space, even in winter,’ says Elisabetta. ‘I love to sit here, it feels like an extension of my living room.’
Layer up your bed
Even in a clean, monochrome colour scheme, you can give your bed a feeling of cosiness by piling on pillows, cushions and throws in rich textures. ‘My cats have endorsed my bed,’ says Elisabetta. ‘They spend every day here.’
‘I’ve learned to listen to my heart – whether it comes to the look of my home or changing my life. It feels like a risk at the time, but I’m much happier as a result’

A roman retreat
‘Home for me is about finding serenity in the city. My apartment is my paradise for one, small but well formed, with a large outdoor space – 30m2 on top of the 50m2 interior. When I step through the door at the end of the day, I feel myself instantly start to unwind.’
