‘If I’m working to a deadline, I spread everything out and the room gets messy. But I have lots of subtle storage space – like under my desk – so it’s easy to reorganise afterwards’
Liberty, fashion graduate, London
Consider your storage
‘I have a mix of hanging and folded clothes, with things I don’t use much on top of the wardrobe. My boyfriend has his own drawer too. I like keeping clothes out of sight in closed storage.’
Display works in progress
Immerse yourself in your projects by looking at them every day. ‘When I was working on my graduate show, hanging my pieces up helped me to finalise them and bring them together as a collection,’ says Liberty.
Store cosmetics out of sight
Liberty likes to keep her dresser space clutter-free.
‘I keep all my makeup, hair products and nail polish in my chest of drawers,’ she says. ‘It feels much more ordered and calming than having them all out.’
Soften with rugs
A fluffy rug adds cosiness to Liberty’s ordered room. ‘Often my boyfriend stays over and my little nephew Trey likes to pop in to play too,’ she says. ‘It’s nice to have a relaxing space I can unwind in when I’m not busy, so it doesn’t just feel like a workspace.’
‘I like my room to be an inspiring space – it’s a reflection of my style and my work’
