IKEA has more than 1200 furniture suppliers around the world as well as 100 food suppliers and 275 suppliers of transport. The five countries that supply most goods and services to IKEA are China, Poland, Italy, Germany and Sweden. The profile of our well-designed and high quality range is distinctively Swedish/Scandinavian. The low price is literally built into the production and the flat packs facilitate a rational distribution, self-service and immediate take-away.
3. How do I check stock availability?
Every effort is made to maintain the availability of items shown in the catalogue, but due to popularity and supply issues, some products may not always be available. Generally, IKEA can estimate when a product should be back in stock. Because IKEA products are manufactured throughout the world, there are sometimes circumstances which can cause delivery delays. Please put search your article number and follow the steps to check availability of stock.

5. How do I get to the IKEA Dublin store?
If you’re driving via the M50 take exit 4 and turn right at the Ballymun roundabout if you’re coming from the south, left if you’re coming from the north. Coming from the city centre stay in the left hand lane as you approach the M50 interchange.

1. Is there parking when I get there?
Yes, we have plenty of free parking, over 1800 spaces, including family parking spaces and easy access for the disabled.

3. Are there baby strollers for customers in store?
Yes, we have baby strollers, basket trolleys and flatbed trolleys for use in the store. The baby strollers are at the main entrance as you come in from the car park, the other trolleys are in the market hall. Pick up a yellow bag in the main entrance and change it for trolley when you get downstairs to the market hall.

5. Can someone help me plan and design rooms?
IKEA Dublin offers a home decoration service if you wish to furnish an entire room or home. We also offer an assisted self-planning service. Using computer simulations, specially trained kitchen planners can help you plan and choose the kitchen that is right for you. 6. Do you have special food for children in your restaurant?
Yes, we are family friendly. Children can eat from €1. We supply toddler seats, organic baby food, baby food warming stations, play areas and nursing areas. Bring the family we have something for everyone.
7. What time is the Småland crèche open?
Småland is a free crèche open for children aged 3-8.

8. What can I recycle at IKEA?
At our customer recycle point located in the yellow car park on the right as you enter the store, you can drop off large household appliances, packaging (eg. cardboard), bottles and cans. At our indoor customer take-back desk located beside the exit, you can drop off batteries, small weee items, light bulbs including energy saving bulbs.

Yes, you can purchase an IKEA gift card at checkouts. This card can be redeemed worldwide.
10. How can I get large items home?
Most of our products are designed and packaged in such a way that you can
easily get them home in your own car. But for those things that aren’t, you
can arrange home delivery with us, for a reasonable charge. The same
applies to products that are made to order, such as custom-made sofas. Just ask in store for details.

12. Why do I have to assemble the products myself?
Most IKEA products are designed to be assembled by the customer. That way,
you get the very best value. However, if you would prefer, you can leave all
the assembly to our independent assembly service providers offering home assembly services in your area, for a competitive price.
The service includes
1 year workmanship guarantee and disposal of packaging in an environmentally
friendly way. The cost of the assembly service is a basic charge and a percentage of the product retail price. IKEA family members will receive a discount off the assembly fee. For more information please see in-store.
13. Do you need help assembling your furniture?
IKEA products are designed to be assembled by the customer, however if you prefer we will recommend an independent service provider offering a home assembly service in your area.
There will be a call out charge in addition to an assembly charge. Arrangements can be made at the Home Delivery Desk.
14. Can I return items?
IKEA stores always offer a generous returns policy. Ask for assistance at your store or look in your catalogue for details. Please do not forget the receipt and the original packaging.

There are about 11,000 products in the total IKEA product range. Each store carries a selection of these 11,000 products depending on store size. The core range is the same worldwide.

Our cashiers accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and IKEA gift cards. We do not accept cheques or bank drafts.

3. Am I eligible for a VAT refund and what do I need to do to obtain one?
VAT refund for overseas business elsewhere in the EU
IKEA may refund VAT charged to you provided:
- Your business has a valid EU (excluding Ireland) VAT registration number.
- Within 3 months after the purchase date you either bring the goods back to your country OR arrange for the goods to be shipped by a freight forwarding company there.
You need to provide IKEA with your VAT number at the point of sale and provide the following evidence within 6 months from the date the item was purchased:
If you are travelling back with the goods yourself:
- The name of the authorised representative collecting the goods.
- Your overseas address where the goods are to be delivered.
- The vehicle registration number of the transport used.
- Name and signature of the driver.
- Copy of travel tickets.
- Name of ferry company, port of departure and date of sailing.
If you are arranging for the goods to be shipped by a freight forwarder:
A copy of the carrier’s invoice or consignment note, supported by evidence that the goods have been removed from Ireland within 3 months after the purchase date. The evidence needs to identify:
- The name, address of the hauler collecting the goods*
- The name and signature of the driver collecting the goods*
- The registration number of the vehicle collecting the goods*
- The vehicle registration numbers of the vehicles transporting the goods.
- You as the customer.
- Sufficient details of the items shipped to show that they are those which you have bought from IKEA E.G ‘4 DVD towers’ or ‘items per [order no.]’ – vague descriptions such as ‘furniture’ or ‘chairs’ are not sufficient.
- The address the goods were shipped to.
- The mode of transport and route of the movement.
- The name and address of ferry or shipping company and date of sailing or airway number and airport.
- Trailer and container numbers (if applicable).
*If the goods are removed from Ireland by a different hauler, vehicle or driver then the name and address of that different hauler, the name and signature of that different driver and the registration number of that different vehicle will also be required.
VAT refunds for exports outside of the EU
IKEA may refund VAT charged to you provided:
- You or your business are resident outside the EU.
- Your business (applicable only where goods are purchased in the name of the business) is not registered for VAT in Ireland.
- Within 3 months after the purchase date you arrange for the goods to be shipped to a destination outside the EU.
You need to provide IKEA with your VAT number and the following evidence within 6 months from the date the item was purchased:
- Evidence of residency outside Ireland (E.G solicitor certification of residency status, copy of work permit, combination of copy of passport and utility bill/bank statement)
- Evidence of transport of goods outside the EU within 3 months after the purchase date (E.G Master or authenticated sea- or air-waybills, other certificates of shipment).
To be sufficient evidence, the document needs to show:
- The consignor.
- You as the customer.
- Sufficient details of the items shipped to show that they are those which you have bought from IKEA E.G ‘4 DVD towers’ or ‘items per [invoice nos.]’ – vague descriptions such as ‘furniture’ or ‘chairs’ are not sufficient.
- The destination outside the EU of the export.
- The date and mode of transport and route of the export movement.

1. Can I return items?
IKEA stores always offer a generous returns policy. Ask for assistance at your store or look in your catalogue for details. Please do not forget the receipt and the original packaging.

Items ordered in store, to be delivered to you at a later date, can only be cancelled free of charge within 24 hours from the date on which the order was paid for. After this period, a handling charge applies to any cancellation. Orders for made-to-order sofas, once confirmed, cannot be cancelled at any time. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.
2. There seems to be a mistake on my receipt from the store. What should I do?

3. Can I return a mattress?
Once the packaging has been opened on a mattress, for reasons of hygiene and safety, we are unable to refund or exchange it unless it is faulty
4. Can I return a made to order product?
These can’t be returned, as it’s not possible for us to resell them. In addition, orders for made to order products can only be cancelled up until we send your Delivery Advice email.
5. Can I return goods I have opened or assembled?
No, items must be returned and unused items in their original packaging within 90 days with your till receipt, for a full refund full details please read our Terms & Conditions
6. Can a different account be credited with a refund?
Sorry. A refund will always be made to the card used for payment.
1. How can I get large items home?
Most IKEA products are flat-packed, making them easy to transport. The IKEA store offers a home delivery service, if you prefer. Home delivery is not included in the product price.
2. What if I’m out when you deliver?
With a parcel delivery, if there is no one in, the courier will leave your parcel with a neighbour and leave a card with contact details for alternative delivery or collection
With a truck delivery, we'll contact you 24-48hrs before your delivery to confirm the date and indicate if the truck delivery team will be with you in the morning or afternoon. If you want to specify a particular time, contact us in advance, and we’ll do our best to suit you.

IKEA FAMILY is the IKEA loyalty programme. IKEA FAMILY is open to everyone, and it’s free to join. With an IKEA FAMILY card you get members prices on selected home furnishing products, food products and services. 2. How do I become an IKEA FAMILY member?
It is free to sign up and you can start using the benefits the same day. You can sign up, in store, via a paper application, in one of the IKEA FAMILY kiosks or online today
You get a temporary card on registration, your plastic card will be sent home to you within 4-6 weeks of registration. Your temporary card entitles you to all the benefits until the plastic card arrives.
3. How long does it take before I get my card?
It takes 4-6 weeks from application. If you have not received the card 6 weeks after registration contact an IKEA FAMILY co-worker in store or Customer Services on 1890 987 938.
4. What do I do if I want to shop at IKEA before my card arrives?
You can always print out a temporary card;
- Via the kiosk in store by entering surname, date of birth and postcode
- Via your online IKEA FAMILY account
You need to show a card, plastic or temporary, at time of purchase to qualify for an IKEA FAMILY offer in-store, unfortunately you are unable to claim a discount retrospectively.

9. How do I sign up to a workshop, seminar or event?

You need to be logged in to your online IKEA FAMILY account to be able to sign up. Confirmation and booking details will be emailed to you when sign up is completed.
10. Can you tell me more about the free product insurance?
IKEA FAMILY members benefit from a free product insurance, against any accidental damage on the way home or whilst assembly. The insurance is valid on any purchase and not just items with an IKEA FAMILY price. The IKEA FAMILY card must be swiped at time of purchase to insure products. This is only valid to customers who transport their items themselves, not when using the IKEA Home Delivery Service. Items purchased from the Bargain Corner are not covered by the benefit. To claim on your insurance come to store within 90 days of the date of purchase to return any item damaged during transit or whilst building. Insurance cannot be claimed by contacting Customer Services by phone, email or online.
11. How is my data being used?
IKEA Ltd will safeguard any information provided. We use the details provided, together with the information your IKEA FAMILY card tells us about what you buy in our stores to: understand what you like to buy; help make IKEA FAMILY better for you; contact you with offers and information about products and services that may be of personal interest to you.

3. When does the new catalogue come out?
The annual catalogue is distributed in August/September of each year and is valid for a full year. Prices are guaranteed not to increase while the catalogue is valid. (Prices are guaranteed until mid July)

Our catalogues are printed on totally chlorine-free paper and contain at least 10-15% post-consumer waste. No rainforest or old-growth fibres are used.
