IKEA Japan
Customers are invited to help as well through the donation boxes IKEA has placed in the stores. Prices on certain articles are reduced by 50% and customers are able to donate those articles to the evacuation areas.
Since the situation in Japan is still uncertain, IKEA has decided to further postpone the re-opening of the three stores in the Tokyo area; Funabashi, Kohoku and Shin-Misatu.
The safety of our co-workers are important, therefore IKEA has offered all co-workers and their families around Tokyo as well as the co-workers transferred to Japan by IKEA, to relocate. IKEA Japan is led from the Kobe Store.
IKEA continues to look into how to provide more long-term support for the people in the affected areas and follow the recommendations from WHO and other organizations.
