People Planet Positive

We want to have a positive impact on people and the planet. For many years we’ve focused on economising with resources and helping to create a better everyday life for the many people. Whether we are helping customer live a more sustainable life at home, being a more responsible company, or caring for people and communities touched by our business.

At IKEA we have loads of money-saving products and solutions to help you save energy and water, and reduce waste, and live a more sustainable life at home. They may seem like small things – but that’s the beauty of small actions: they all add up!

The Live LAGOM Project

The Live LAGOM Project is an exciting challenge where we give co-workers the chance to make their homes more sustainable with £450 worth of IKEA products. We then asked them to tell us how they got on throughout the year. Welcom to #LiveLAGOM.

For a long time we have been making more from less; it’s part of our heritage. We’re also busy turning waste into resources, sourcing food and materials in a responsible way and protecting natural resources. And because we want to become energy independent, we’re making the switch to renewable energy.

By 2020 IKEA will be 100% renewable, producing as much renewable energy as we consume.

We are working with WWF and others to combat illegal logging and promote responsible timber trade.

By the end of 2015, our target is that all cotton used in our products will be from more sustainable sources.
