Simply swiping your IKEA Family card is helping the environment!
IKEA in the UK is supporting the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity, the Woodland Trust, in an ambitious partnership to replenish the country’s native broadleaf woodland in conjunction with IKEA FAMILY members.

Over 4 years the ‘IKEA Family Forest’ project has a target to create a minimum 124 hectares of vital woodland habitat in the UK, which will generate oxygen and absorb carbon, protect against climate-related impacts like flooding and provide a refuge for wildlife as well as places for people to visit and enjoy.

For every swipe of a FAMILY card, IKEA UK will sponsor the Woodland Trust to create a square foot of forest, managed to FSC accreditation and to benefit IKEA local communities.

Lighting up the life of others
Millions of children can’t draw, write or read after sunset. It’s time to make a joint effort with you to aid these children in need. For every SUNNAN solar lamp you buy, IKEA Social Initiative will donate another to UNICEF with the aim to improve children’s education. The first shipments are destined for Pakistan, helping children in refugee camps and remote villages in Balochistan and the North West Frontier province.

IKEA & Southampton Scrap Store
Much of what businesses throw out is ideal for art, craft and play. Southampton Scrapstore, a charity run almost entirely by volunteers, collects this 'scrap' and puts it all under one roof for its members to access. It's a simple idea that provides low-cost art materials to up to 17000 children and adults, whilst stopping waste filling up the landfill.

We are pleased to announce that IKEA Southampton are now scrap suppliers for the charity. As a special treat we have pledged to kit out the new foyer area with some comfortable seating. So look out for new goodies coming to the Southampton Scrapstore.
