    How to shop in IKEA

The IKEA Concept starts with the idea of providing a range of home furnishing products that are affordable to the many people, not just the few. But how do we keep prices low?

First we do our part. We choose manufacturers who can deliver good quality at a low price, and we buy in bulk. Then we save on transport and storage by packing things flat.

Next you do your part. By picking up the furniture, bringing it home and assembling it yourself. This is how together we save money.

    1. How do I return my product?
    2. What is the best time to come to return an item?
    3. Do I need to provide my receipt?
    4. I want to return a product but don't have the card that I paid with, what can I do?
    5. I have lost the assembly instructions, where can I find a copy?
    6. I need a replacement fitting (nut/bolt/screw/etc), do you have them and how much do they cost?
    7. How do I make a claim using my IKEA FAMILY card insurance?
    8. Where do I go to ask someone about lost property?

    1. How do I return my product?
If you have changed your mind - you have 365 days from the date of purchase to bring your product, along with your receipt, to the Returns department. This department is located next to the store exit.

If the product is faulty - IKEA products are covered by a standard 1 year warranty for any manufacturing fault (do you want to learn more on our guarantees? Click here). Just bring your product and receipt in to the Returns department.

    2. What is the best time to come to return an item?
As we are a large store with a high volume of customers, it is impossible for us to predict quiet times. Weekends and Monday mornings are usually our busiest times; however we do operate a first-come-first-served ticketing system which enables us to deal with customers’ returns in the fairest way.

    3. Do I need to provide my receipt?
If you don't have your original receipt then a bank statement can also be taken as your proof of purchase and we might still be able to give you a voucher as refund.

    4. I want to return a product but don't have the card that I paid with, what can I do?
It is worth coming in store and checking at the Returns department if the refund can be issued. It will most likely be given on an IKEA refund voucher.

    5. I have lost the assembly instructions, where can I find a copy?
Search your product (type the name or article number and click on “search”) on our website as shown below.

Once you are on your product webpage, you can open and save the instructions (these are in PDF format).

    6. I need a replacement fitting (nut/bolt/screw/etc), do you have them and how much do they cost?
The spare parts that we can provide to you are the ones that have a number/code next to them in the instructions (click here for an example). We aim to have as many fittings in store for our products as we can. If you have a receipt and/or a reasonable request, then generally, there is no charge for spare parts.
It is always worth going in to the Returns department with the number/code of the part you are missing, as even if we don't have the part that you require, it may be possible that we can order it for you.

    7. How do I make a claim using my IKEA FAMILY card insurance?
Being a member of the IKEA FAMILY entitles you to a further guarantee. As long as you have swiped your IKEA FAMILY card when you made your purchase, the product is insured against accidental damage on the journey home from the store and also whilst you are assembling the product. If the product does get damaged, simply return the product along with the receipt and show your IKEA FAMILY card to the Returns department to receive your refund. (Do you want to know more about IKEA FAMILY? Click here ).

    8. Where do I go to ask someone about lost property?
For any enquiries relating to lost property, please speak to a member of staff in the Returns department.
