The art of packing lunch

No matter how much we talk ourselves into the benefits of a packed lunch (you know, healthier, more cost efficient, all-around awesome, etc.), it’s way too easy to fall off track. So what’s the key? Like most things, it’s all about being prepared and having a plan of attack.

Get prepped

There’s just no getting around it – perfect weekday lunches usually start over the weekend. Prepare your food all in one day (Sunday makes sense to us), and plan in lots of possibilities. So 2-3 different carb choices, 2-3 different meat choices, 2-3 different veggie choices, and a few sauces to tie things off.

Chop, cook, etc., and then store each item in its own labeled container.

Is there any more beautiful sight than a perfectly organised fridge? It doesn’t just look good. Keeping things nice and neat makes life so much easier when it’s time to pack your lunch.

Mix things up

We don’t know about you, but our tastes tend to change with our moods. That’s what’s so great about being so prepared. Each day you can create cool new combos from the same set of base ingredients you prepared. Quinoa-veggie salad? Done. Pasta with meatballs and spinach? Yes, please. Pack it all up with super organized boxes, resusable utensils, a cloth napkin, and you’re good to go!
