CREATIVE CHILDREN’S IDEAS
Let’s play for change
From 20 November to 24 December for every children’s book and toy sold during the campaign period, the IKEA Foundation will make a donation of € 1 to projects in some of the poorest communities in the world, supporting children’s development and learning, equal participation, sports and of course – play.
STOCK WITH FUN ART MATERIALS
By filling shelves with paper, crayons and paints, a sideboard can become an instant craft table. ‘The height of this one is just right for Savannah Grace. She and Aiden Joshua share it comfortably – one side is for art materials and the other for toys.’
ADD EASY-ACCESS TOY BOXES
Clear storage for toys and games means children can easily find their things, carry them to another room and help tidy them away afterwards. ‘The kids like to play wherever we are, so it makes sense to have a place to keep some of their things outside of their bedroom.’
LET'S GET MESSY!
With a painting apron and easy-to-clean surfaces, paint spills are nothing to worry about. ‘Part of being creative is being free to make a mess. Afterwards, we turn tidying up into a game, which helps the kids learn to take responsibility.’
‘Setting up the children’s station in the hallway was a small effort, but it’s made a big difference. The kids use it nearly every day and it will last for years to come’
