Both “dressers” and “chests of drawers” are essentially storage units with drawers, mainly used in bedrooms or living spaces. In practice, the difference is mostly about how and where you use them, rather than strict product categories:

• A chest of drawers is usually a taller, narrower unit designed mainly for storing clothes, accessories and smaller items.

• A dresser is often a wider, lower unit, commonly used in bedrooms with a mirror on top or above and extra surface space for everyday items.
