[National]  On Friday 14th September home furnishing experts, IKEA unveiled a unique and authentic floating night market on Regent’s Canal, North London, to celebrate and showcase the 100s of stylish and vibrant products in the new seasonal range, inspired by a fusion of global influences.
For one day only, visitors were given an exclusive look at the exciting and inspirational items in the new range whilst enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of an authentic floating night market. Guests were invited to experience a scenic boat trip on the canal at dusk as they visited the floating market punts, abundant with vibrant products from the new IKEA collection.

Lorenzo Meazza, Creative Director & Interior Design Manager at IKEA comments, ‘We’re really excited to be launching the new collection in this fun and exciting way in the heart of London. The range is all about textiles, with many inspired by vibrant colours and patterns from all over the world. We’re proud of the 100s of colourful textiles and products and felt that the floating night market brings them to life in an unexpected and original way.

The new collection offers people simple and affordable ways to transform and bring new life to their homes. With autumn approaching, it is time to adapt to the seasonal changes and our new collection demonstrates how easy it is to use textiles to make big changes to your home, without spending a fortune. We hope our new collection not only surprises people but inspires them to add a splash of colour into their own homes.’

Clare Rodgers, Country Sales Manager at IKEA UK & Ireland says, ‘The IKEA Floating Night Market, offers our guests an exciting and inspiring experience and a chance to see the new products from the 2013 IKEA Catalogue. This year’s catalogue is packed with products, tips and inspiration for a better everyday life at home – there are tons of new products too, including bright new textiles that can make a big difference to the home.

We hope this year’s catalogue will also inspire people to express themselves through being creative in the home. Whether you are adding colour to a paper lampshade or embroidering a bed spread, the catalogue gives top tips on how to be creative.

This year’s catalogue has also gone digital to offer consumers more – more ‘how to’ videos, more images and more stories from product designers that should inspire! This material can easily be accessed via the IKEA catalogue app, which can be downloaded to smartphones and tablets. We hope everyone is as excited as us by the exciting new range of products that have just arrived to our stores!’
