22 IKEA Coworkers Honoured for 25 Years of Service at IKEA Montréal's Anniversary Celebration
[National] Burlington, Ontario – On June 1, 2011, IKEA Canada will be celebrating the 25 year anniversary of its Montréal store.
The celebrations will include a Smörgåsbord breakfast for co-workers as well as a ceremony honouring 22 coworkers who have been working with IKEA in the Montréal market for the full 25 years. Celebrations like these are common for IKEA who has 45 coworkers nationally who have been with IKEA for 25 years and 673 who have worked at IKEA for more than 10 years.
“At IKEA, we are proud to offer our coworkers a great place to work.” Says Cory Randles, Vice President, Human Resources, IKEA Canada. “Our strength as an employer comes from the great opportunities that exist for our coworkers to learn, grow and most importantly to contribute their ideas to the organization.”
The IKEA Human Resource idea is to give down-to-earth, straightforward people the opportunity to grow both as individuals and in their professional roles, so that together, we are strongly committed to creating a better everyday life for ourselves and our customers.
Among the HR practices that make IKEA a great place to work are training programs, flexible work arrangements, competitive compensation packages along with the IKEA culture and values. An increasingly important aspect of IKEA’s workplace is sustainability, something that both the company and its coworkers are passionate about.
The IKEA Culture has its origins in Småland, southern Sweden. An area that has long since been associated with its hardworking people, who have developed skills for living on small means and making the best of limited resources.
