Visit the store on Tuesday 13 December and enjoy a traditional Swedish Santa Lucia procession performed by the Swedish School.

The procession will take place in the IKEA Restaurant at 6.30pm.

The Swedish Lucia custom dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. Lucia normally appears on 13 December, wearing a white gown and a wreath of lingonberry sprigs and lights on her head. Lucia is followed by a choir of “star boys”, who sing a repertoire of Christmas songs.

GOOD CAUSE CAMPAIGN
Let’s Play For Change
Every child has a right to learn, develop and have fun. But many people are not aware that play is a basic need, and that every child has a right to it under the UN conventions on the Rights of the Child.

The benefits of play are seemingly endless. It is instrumental to a child’s present and future stability. Kids learn through play. They learn about the world and how things work; they learn what they are capable of and gain self-esteem, and playing with others teaches them empathy, just to name a few.

For every children’s book and toy sold from 20 November - 24 December the IKEA Foundation will donate 1 Euro supporting children’s play and development.
