Woodland Whimsy and Warhol Pop at IKEA this April
[National]  IKEA’s new product range for this April is a twist on the past with a nod to the future. Think woodland creature patterns with psychedelic undertones. A gentle mix of old Victorian mirrors and colour pop bathroom accessories; this month IKEA has something to suit everyone’s personality.
Sally Dubois, IKEA 1st Visual Merchandiser says, “April's range is considerably diverse, and there are a number of whimsical textiles juxtaposed with strong colour blocks. What better way to spice up a room then with a splash of colour and a moose!”

With the power to shape time in a flat pack, the SMYCKE wall clock uses its hexagonal qualities to its favour, allowing you to shape it in multiple ways while creating your own personalised decor anywhere in the house.

“This clock is an incredibly versatile and functional decoration, with a stable centre in grey the excess red, white, yellow, green and black blocks allow you to shape the clock in infinite patterns,” says Sally.

The KNAPPER is a double duty freestanding mirror that doubles as a clothes rack with storage hooks behind it allowing you to easily display outfits – perfect for those quick changes, working out what to wear, or simply to show off your favourite clothes.

“Designers David Wahl and Nicolas Cortolezzis combined the practicality of a freestanding mirror with hidden functionality. Creating the wider back gave the mirror room for more clothes but also increased stability. It’s a simple piece that will make life much easier when deciding between ensembles,” says Sally.

Cluttered bathrooms are a thing of the past with the LOSJON bathroom organisers. With their bright colours and 1960’s pop modern shapes these little devices will cheer up even the hardest of mornings. Made from 100% recyclable PET plastic they include: a set of five round wall pegs; soap dish; toilet brush holder; toilet roll holder; and toothbrush mug.

“This is such a fun way to brighten a room and so easy to use. The pegs and toilet roll holder come with adhesive backing so it’s just a matter of placing them and you’re good to go!” says Sally.

This April is an exquisite contradiction of woodland whimsy and Warhol pop. With clean lines, fresh bold prints, geometric shapes and some delightfully unexpected decorations that are true to their Swedish heritage.
