Let IKEA Help You Set the Scene for Your Party Season
[National]  Parties are a big part of the summer season here in Australia – and why wouldn’t they be? The weather is warm, friends and family are gathered together; there’s no better excuse for a party.
From serving dishes, dinnerware and decorations that can be used year after year, to fun and festive one-time use paper plates and mugs, IKEA makes preparation easy and beautiful with affordable party staples and accessories all under the one roof.

Georgie Gocur, Visual Merchandiser at IKEA says, “Setting the party atmosphere and delighting guests with amazing table settings and centrepieces can help to create a special and memorable party. Filling large vases with shiny seasonal ornaments from the JULMYS series can create fabulous table centrepieces, or even use single ornaments to liven a place setting.”

Simple touches like serving-ware including textured glass bowls and tiered stands work well to showcase food, and add a stylish element to your table. Look for products like GOTTIS and FORTJUST, or the IKEA 365+ serving stand.

“Adding textured glassware to your table creates interest, and makes a feature of the food that is in the bowls,” says Georgie.

IKEA even offer a range of stylish and tasteful disposable plates and mugs which are decorated in a silver, snow-flake pattern that make cleaning up quick and easy.

“Celebrating is fun, but cleaning up the day after isn’t. With a stylish range of paper plates and mugs available, why wouldn’t you choose them for a more casual and relaxed affair,” says Georige.

Lighting can make all the difference to your party, so dazzle your guests with long lasting LED seasonal STRALA lighting including light chains and star-shaped pendant lamps.

“A room can be completely changed by the lighting in it. By immersing the room in a feature light, or simply surrounding the windows with hanging light chains, it can completely change the mood and feel of the whole room,” says Georgie.
